In a statement released on Tuesday, Starmer said: "I am not currently an MP as Parliament has been dissolved for a General Election on 4 July. The Rt Hon Keir Starmer is the Labour MP for Holborn.

In April 2020, Keir was elected as Leader of the Labour Party. "It is the honour and privilege of my life. I will do my utmost to guide us through these difficult times." - Keir Starmer.
